Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
- A minimum of six months occupational therapy experience preferred
- Home Health experience a plus
- Current and unrestricted OT licensure

Description of position:
- Assess and screen patients’ daily living and working skills. Develop a therapeutic retraining program with measurable objectives.
- Administer and interpret diagnostic and prognostic tests of function to patients in their homes to assist the physician in evaluating the patient’s level of function.
- Confer with the patients’ physicians and clinical team members. Participate in development and revision of the Plan of Care Treatment.
- Provide therapeutic treatment and instruction to patients in accordance with physician orders to improve and restore strength, coordination, range of motion and function.

Qualifications and information about the position: The University of South Alabama invites nominations and applications for a clinical track faculty position with Fieldwork Coordinator responsibilities in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Requirements for the position include a minimum of a Master’s degree, with credentials appropriate for rank of Assistant Clinical Professor. Successful candidates must be eligible for O.T. licensure in Alabama. A minimum of 3 years of professional practice experience and evidence of involvement in professional organization activities is required. Teaching and research experience is preferred. Qualified applicants should be team oriented and have interest in emerging practice areas. The successful candidate will teach courses in areas of expertise and in general OT topics, advise students, and may direct graduate research projects. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.
This 12-month non-tenure-track position is available to start in January 2010. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2009 and continue until position is filled.
