Government Agencies Featured Site HCFA's Online Survey,
Certification, and Reporting (OSCAR) Database.
The purpose of the information on this Web site is to provide an
accessible list of nursing homes that participate in Medicare and Medicaid and to
report the results of the most recent state survey in each center.
The survey data is collected by the State survey agencies who perform onsite
evaluations at least once during a 15-month period to ensure the nursing home
residents receive quality care and services in a safe and comfortable
environment in accordance with rules established by HCFA. The State survey
agencies are then responsible for entering survey information into the OSCAR
database and providing updates as needed.
